Usage

Sense 1 (chart/graph): Used in business and academic contexts. Common types include フローチャート (flowchart), 円(えん)グラフ (pie chart), 棒(ぼう)グラフ (bar chart). Note that グラフ is often preferred for simple graphs.

Sense 2 (ranking): Used mainly for music charts. オリコンチャート (Oricon chart) is Japan's primary music ranking system.
