The current Japanese era name, which began on May 1, 2019 with the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito. It follows the Heisei era.
令和(れいわ)の時代(じだい)が始(はじ)まった。
The Reiwa era has begun.
令和(れいわ)に入(はい)ってから新(あたら)しい法律(ほうりつ)ができた。
New laws were enacted after the start of the Reiwa era.
令和(れいわ)という元号(げんごう)は万葉集(まんようしゅう)から取(と)られたもので、日本(にほん)の古典(こてん)に由来(ゆらい)している。
The era name Reiwa was taken from the Man'yōshū, deriving from a Japanese classic.

令和(れいわ) is the current Japanese era name (元号(げんごう)), in use since May 1, 2019.

ORIGIN:
The name comes from the 万葉集(まんようしゅう) (Man'yōshū), Japan's oldest anthology of poetry. It is the first era name derived from a Japanese text rather than a Chinese classic.
