Describes a person, thing, or condition that is not well-suited for a particular purpose, role, or task. The opposite of 向き (suited for).
この仕事(しごと)は彼(かれ)には不向(ふむ)きだ。
This job is not suited for him.
営業(えいぎょう)には不向(ふむ)きな性格(せいかく)だと思(おも)う。
I think my personality is not cut out for sales.
このソファは小(ちい)さい部屋(へや)には不向(ふむ)きなので、別(べつ)のものを探(さが)した方(ほう)がいい。

USAGE: 不向(ふむ)き is used with に or な to describe unsuitability. The pattern is [noun]には不向(ふむ)きだ or 不向(ふむ)きな[noun].
