Coming at the end of a process or series of events; the last or conclusive stage. Often used adverbially with に to mean 'ultimately' or 'in the end'.
最終的な判断は社長が下す。
The president makes the final decision.
最終的に合意に達した。
They ultimately reached an agreement.
長い議論の末、最終的に計画は承認された。
After lengthy discussion, the plan was ultimately approved.
USAGE:
Used as a na-adjective (最終的な) to modify nouns, or adverbially as 最終的に (ultimately, in the end). The adverbial form is extremely common in both spoken and written Japanese.
