CULTURE:
Traditionally, a 鏡台 was an essential item in a bride's 嫁入り道具 (trousseau). Japanese-style 鏡台 are low, designed to be used while sitting on the floor (座り鏡台). Western-style standing versions are also called 鏡台 or ドレッサー.
