Indicates that something is happening or in progress at the current time. Often used in formal or written contexts to describe an ongoing situation.
目下(もっか)調査中(ちょうさちゅう)です。
It is currently under investigation.
目下(もっか)の課題(かだい)は人手不足(ひとでぶそく)だ。
The current issue is a shortage of workers.
この問題(もんだい)については目下(もっか)検討(けんとう)を進(すす)めているところです。
We are currently in the process of examining this issue.

A formal adverb meaning "at present" or "currently." Can also function as a noun modifier with の, as in 目下(もっか)の課題(かだい) (the current issue). More formal than 今(いま) or 現在(げんざい).
