The passive form of 影響する, indicating that someone or something receives an influence or effect from an external cause. Used for both positive and negative influences.
The passive form of 影響する (to influence). While 影響を受ける is more common in formal writing, 影響される is widely used in both spoken and written Japanese. The agent of influence is marked with に.
Usage
The particle に marks the source of influence:
