The side that faces you or is directly across from a reference point. Used for locations across a street, river, table, or other space.
Common spatial term composed of 向かい (facing, opposite) + 側 (side). Very frequently used when giving directions or describing the relative positions of things. Can be used with or without a preceding noun phrase specifying what it's across from.
