Suffix attached to a number, yen amount, or percentage to express a price reduction. The rendaku form of 引き (pulling, subtracting).
二割引きで買った。
I bought it at 20% off.
五百円引きのクーポンを使った。
I used a 500-yen-off coupon.
会員は全商品が一割引きで購入できる。
Members can purchase all items at 10% off.
Voiced form (rendaku) of 引き. Attaches to a number expressing how much is taken off a price.
COMMON COMPOUNDS:
- 一割引き: 10% off
- 半額引き: half-price off (more often just 半額)
- 千円引き: 1,000 yen off
- 学割引き: student discount
USAGE:
For percentages, Japanese normally uses 割 (= 10%): 三割引 (30% off). For yen amounts, the figure plus 円 attaches directly: {三百円引き}. Often appears on store signs and coupons.
