1.
company resort lodge; recreation facility; rest home
A lodge, usually at a hot spring or the seaside, that a company, union or public body runs so that its members and their families can stay cheaply.
保養 (rest, recuperation) + 所 (place; voiced じょ here). A typical perk of large Japanese companies and public-sector unions from the postwar boom years: employees and their families could stay at a hot-spring or seaside lodge for a small fee. Many have since been sold off.
