Cultural note

TRANSITIVITY: 他動詞(たどうし) (transitive). No pair verb. Pattern: Xを脱(ぬ)ぐ (take off X).

ASPECT: ている indicates resulting state. 脱(ぬ)いでいる = 'has taken off' (is now without).
