2. worth, value (mainly in {値打|ねう}ち)

Worth or value. In this sense ね appears almost only in the compound 値打(ねう)ち; on its own, 'value' is the other reading of the same kanji, 値(あたい).

努力(どりょく)に見合(みあ)った値(ね)打(う)ちがある。

It has worth commensurate with the effort.

値(ね)打(う)ち = value, worth

この絵(え)には高(たか)い値(ね)打(う)ちがある。

This painting has great value.

経験(けいけん)は何(なに)ものにも代(か)えがたい値(ね)打(う)ちがある。

Experience has a value that cannot be replaced by anything.

Usage: In everyday speech 値段(ねだん) is the usual word for 'price'; 値(ね) alone appears mostly in set phrases. In math and science the same kanji is read あたい (a value).
