The broader or more inclusive meaning of a word or concept. Used when distinguishing between a wider and narrower interpretation of a term.
広義(こうぎ)の「文化(ぶんか)」には生活(せいかつ)様式(ようしき)も含(ふく)まれる。
"Culture" in the broad sense also includes lifestyle.
広義(こうぎ)に解釈(かいしゃく)すれば、この法律(ほうりつ)は適用(てきよう)される。
