既述(きじゅつ)

A compound of 既(き) (already) and 述(じゅつ) (to state, to describe). A formal written-language word used to refer back to earlier content in reports, papers, and official documents. Rarely used in spoken Japanese.

Usage

Almost exclusively a written-language word. Commonly appears as 既述(きじゅつ)の (the aforementioned) or 既述(きじゅつ)のとおり (as previously stated).
