2. knowledgeable, well-informed (about)
Describing someone who knows a lot about a particular subject. Used with に to indicate the topic of expertise.
彼(かれ)は日本(にほん)の歴史(れきし)に詳(くわ)しい。
He is knowledgeable about Japanese history.
〜に詳しい = knowledgeable about ~
彼女(かのじょ)はコンピュータに詳(くわ)しい。
She is knowledgeable about computers.
その件(けん)には詳(くわ)しくない。
I'm not well-informed about that matter.
法律(ほうりつ)に詳(くわ)しい人(ひと)に相談(そうだん)した。
