The branching horn of a deer. Also used in traditional medicine and crafts.
Composed of 鹿 (deer, in on'yomi reading) and 角 (horn). The reading ろっかく features gemination (促音). In traditional East Asian medicine, 鹿茸 (young, velvet-covered antler) is prized as a health supplement. The 鹿の角切り (antler cutting) ceremony in Nara dates back to the Edo period.
