Perceiving depth and three dimensions, either through normal binocular vision or by viewing specially prepared images such as stereograms or 3D displays. Can take する.
Compound of 立体 (three-dimensional solid) + 視 (vision, viewing). It takes する to form a verb (立体視する, to view in 3D). The brain creates the sense of depth from the slight difference between the two eyes' images (視差, parallax).
