1. offer; approach (of work, a role, or a contract)
An approach made to someone with a concrete proposal — a job, a transfer, a part in a production, an appearance on a program. From English "offer", but narrower: it is used for work and contracts, not for offers of help or of goods for sale.
オファー()けた
I accepted the offer.
I have an offer from another company.
The terms didn't suit me, so I decided to turn down this offer.

Business and entertainment-industry vocabulary. Also used as a suru-verb (オファーする, to make an offer), though the noun is far more common.
