A garment without sleeves, or the style itself. A Japanese coinage from English "no sleeve"; English says "sleeveless". Used before a noun with の (ノースリーブのワンピース) or alone for a sleeveless top.

It was hot, so I wore a sleeveless top.

A false friend: "no sleeve" is not used in English. In workplaces and at formal occasions, bare shoulders are often thought out of place, so a cardigan or jacket goes on top.
