三十(さんじゅう) is the number thirty, formed from 三(さん) (three) + 十(じゅう) (ten).

Tens are digit + 十(じゅう): 二十(にじゅう) (20), 三十(さんじゅう) (30), 四十(よんじゅう) (40).
Before some counters じゅう becomes じゅっ (or traditional じっ): 三十分(さんじゅっぷん) (30 minutes), 三十歳(さんじゅっさい) (30 years old).

三十(さんじゅう)代(だい) means "in one's thirties." This pattern works for all ages:
