The place where something happens or happened.
現場 refers to the actual place where something happens or where work is done. It has two main uses: a specific location (scene/site) and the workplace front line (as opposed to management).
SENSE 1 — SCENE/SITE:

SENSE 2 — FRONT LINE/FIELD:
