Forms
リスケ is clipped from リスケジュール (reschedule), following the standard Japanese pattern of cutting a loanword to about four moras.
Usage
- リスケする (to reschedule)
- リスケになる (to be rescheduled - the usual way to report it, since the decision is treated as coming from the situation rather than from a person)
- リスケをお願いする (to request a reschedule)
Note that リスケ means moving an appointment to a different time, not cancelling it. In finance the same word is also used for restructuring a loan repayment schedule.
Register
Casual in-house business slang - fine in a chat message or among colleagues, out of place in a letter to a client. More formal alternatives:
- 日程を変更する (to change the schedule)
- 予定を調整する (to adjust the schedule)
- 延期する (to postpone - only when the new time is later)
