The government of a shogun in feudal Japan. There were three major shogunates: the Kamakura (1185–1333), Muromachi (1336–1573), and Edo/Tokugawa (1603–1868) shogunates.
江戸(えど)幕府(ばくふ)は約(やく)260年(ねん)続(つづ)いた。
The Edo shogunate lasted about 260 years.
