(そな)(もの) is central to Japanese religious practice. Common offerings include (こめ) (rice), (さけ) (sake), 果物(くだもの) (fruit), お菓子(かし) (sweets), and (はな) (flowers). After the offering period, food items are often consumed by the family, a practice called お()がり.
