Modifies a following noun by comparing it to something else, or by giving an example of the type meant. The noun-modifying counterpart of ように.
夢(ゆめ)のような話(はなし)だ。
It's a dream-like story.
君(きみ)のような友達(ともだち)がほしい。
I want a friend like you.
今(いま)話(はな)したような問題(もんだい)が、他(ほか)の部署(ぶしょ)でも起(お)きている。

Usage

After a noun the linker is の (子供(こども)のような); after a verb or i-adjective ような attaches directly (思(おも)っていたような); after a na-adjective the linker is な. Before a verb or adjective, the form becomes ように.
