緑(みどり)

緑(みどり) is a noun, so to modify another noun, you use 緑(みどり)の (midori no). Interestingly, in traditional Japanese, the word 青(あお) (blue) covered both blue and green colors. Even today, green traffic lights and green vegetables are often called 青(あお). The distinct word 緑(みどり) for green became more common with Western influence.
