Composed of 行 (go, travel) + 程 (degree, extent, distance). Not to be confused with the homophone 工程 (work process, production schedule), which focuses specifically on work/production steps, while 行程 in sense 2 refers to mechanical strokes or stages. Common collocations: 行程表 (itinerary chart), 往復行程 (round-trip distance), 一日の行程 (a day's journey). In mountaineering and hiking, 行程 specifically refers to the route distance and time estimate for the climb.
