To move an object or obstacle from a place so that the space is free. A common everyday transitive verb.

荷物(にもつ)をどけてください。

Please move your luggage out of the way.

邪魔(じゃま)な箱(はこ)をどけた。

I moved the box that was in the way.

テーブルの上(うえ)の物(もの)をどけて、広(ひろ)い作業(さぎょう)スペースを作(つく)った。

I cleared the things off the table and made a wide workspace.

通路(つうろ)に置(お)いてある自転車(じてんしゃ)をどけてもらえませんか。

A very common everyday verb for moving things out of the way. Written in hiragana in most contexts, though the kanji 退(ど)ける or 除(ど)ける exists. Typically used for clearing physical obstacles or clutter.
