Refers to exceeding the current state or level. Most commonly used in negative sentences to mean 'not any more than this' or with ない to express that something cannot continue further.
これ以上待てない。
I can't wait any longer.
これ以上迷惑をかけたくない。

これ以上値段を下げることはできません。
We cannot lower the price any further.
これ以上 combines the demonstrative これ (this) with 以上 (above, more than) to mean "more than this" or "beyond this point." It is overwhelmingly used with negative predicates to indicate a limit has been reached.
USAGE:
Almost always followed by a negative expression (~ない, ~できない, ~たくない). In positive sentences, it is rare and usually rhetorical: これ以上何を求めるのか (what more could one ask for?).
