Composed of 場 (place, field) and 札 (card, tag). A card game term referring to cards that are in play on the table, as opposed to 手札 (cards in one's hand) or 山札 (draw pile). Most commonly associated with 花札 (hanafuda) and かるた (karuta) but also used in other card games.
