A word used at the start of a formal business letter, in place of a seasonal greeting. Because it names no season, it can be used at any time of year.
時下(じか)ますますご清栄(せいえい)のこととお慶(よろこ)び申(もう)し上(あ)げます。
We trust this letter finds you in ever greater prosperity.
手紙(てがみ)の書(か)き出(だ)しに「時下(じか)」を使(つか)った。
I used jika at the beginning of the letter.
季節(きせつ)の挨拶(あいさつ)を考(かんが)えるのが面倒(めんどう)なときは、「時下(じか)」で始(はじ)めればいい。
When thinking up a seasonal greeting is a bother, you can start with jika.

Used only in writing, right after the opening word 拝啓(はいけい).
