宝石(ほうせき)の玉(たま)が光(ひか)っている。

3. bullet
A projectile for firearms.
鉄砲(てっぽう)の玉(たま)。
A gun bullet.
玉(たま)が飛(と)んできた。

A bullet hit and made a hole in the wall.

玉(たま) refers to round objects, gems, or balls. The kanji can also be read as ぎょく in some compounds.
