失敗(しっぱい)(つづ)きで、自信(じしん)をなくしてしまった。

The noun form of (つづ)く (to continue). Has two main uses: (1) the continuation or sequel of something, and (2) a suffix meaning a series or succession of things.

SENSE 1 — CONTINUATION:
