To bind or tie things together into a bundle.

2. to summarize; to lump together

To group or categorize things together.

全部(ぜんぶ)一(ひと)括(くく)りにしないでほしい。

同(おな)じカテゴリーに括(くく)ることはできない。

We can't lump them into the same category.

複雑(ふくざつ)な問題(もんだい)を一言(ひとこと)で括(くく)るのは難(むずか)しい。

It's difficult to summarize a complex problem in a single word.

括(くく)る is a transitive verb (他動詞(たどうし)). There is no common intransitive pair.
