SENSE 1 — ART GALLERY:
Used for commercial art spaces and exhibition venues. Larger art institutions are more commonly called 美術館(びじゅつかん).

Particularly common in golf, where ギャラリー is the standard word for spectators. Also used for onlookers at street events or casual gatherings.
