Sushi made by rolling vinegared rice and fillings in a sheet of seaweed (nori), then cutting it into rounds. A staple of Japanese home cooking and sushi restaurants.

USAGE:
巻き寿司 has several varieties based on thickness:
- 太巻き: thick roll with multiple fillings
- 細巻き: thin roll with a single filling (e.g., かっぱ巻き for cucumber, 鉄火巻き for tuna)
- 裏巻き: inside-out roll (rice on outside)
Rolling is done with a 巻きす (bamboo rolling mat). 巻き寿司 is commonly made at home for celebrations, parties, and 弁当 (lunch boxes).
