To move past a place or point without stopping.
(えき)(とお)()ぎた。
I went past the station.

(とお)()ぎる is a compound ichidan verb combining (とお)る (to pass through) + ()ぎる (to exceed/pass).

TRANSITIVITY:
Intransitive verb (自動詞(じどうし)). Takes を particle for the place passed.

COMMON PATTERNS:
