1. to hang
To suspend or place something on a hook, wall, or rack. Used for things like pictures, clothes, or bags.
(ふく)かけました。
I hung up clothes.
Please hang up the picture.
I hung a clock on the wall.
I hung my bag on the chair and took a rest.
When you enter the entrance, there's a place to hang your coat.
2. to make a phone call
To call someone on the telephone. Used with 電話(でんわ)を.
電話(でんわ)かけます。
I'll make a phone call.
Please call again.
I called my friend.
I'll call the company tomorrow morning.
3. to put on (glasses)
To wear glasses. Used with 眼鏡(めがね)を.
眼鏡(めがね)かけます。
I put on glasses.

She wears black glasses.
My eyesight has gotten worse recently, so I'm wearing new glasses.

TRANSITIVITY: 他動詞(たどうし) (transitive). Pair: かかる (intransitive). Pattern: Xをかける.

ASPECT: ている indicates resulting state. かけている = 'is wearing (glasses)' or 'have hung.'
