bodywork clinic; chiropractic clinic
A clinic that provides manual body adjustment and manipulation therapy to address musculoskeletal issues. Distinct from Western chiropractic, Japanese seitai encompasses various traditional and modern bodywork techniques.
A compound of 整体 (body adjustment/alignment) and 院 (clinic/institution). 整体院 are extremely common in Japan — they can be found near most train stations and in shopping areas. They are not medical facilities and do not require a medical license, unlike 接骨院 (bonesetting clinics) which are licensed.
Common collocations

- 整体院を開業する: to open a bodywork clinic
