1. to get (something) ready in time; to make it in time

To arrange things so that a deadline or departure time is met. The transitive counterpart of 間(ま)に合(あ)う: the subject actively makes the timing work.

締(し)め切(き)りに間(ま)に合(あ)わせる。

I'll get it done in time for the deadline.

朝(あさ)まで働(はたら)いて納品(のうひん)に間(ま)に合(あ)わせた。
