A belief or idea that one holds firmly, often without sufficient evidence or that may be mistaken.

それはあなたの思(おも)い込(こ)みだ。

Usage

Usually negative: a belief held firmly without good grounds, which the speaker suspects is wrong (それは君(きみ)の思(おも)い込(こ)みだ). It can also be neutral, for strong conviction or single-minded devotion.
