1. crossing the finish line; reaching the goal
Reaching the finish line of a race. A Japanese coinage from English 'goal' + 'in'; used with する.
一位(いちい)でゴールインした。
He crossed the finish line in first place.
The marathon runners cross the finish line one after another.
When the last runner crossed the finish line, loud applause rose from the crowd.
2. getting married (after a courtship)
Figuratively, a couple finally marrying, seen as the happy ending of a long relationship. Common in celebrity news and casual talk.
二人(ふたり)はついにゴールインした。
The two of them finally got married.
七年(ななねん)の交際(こうさい)を経(へ)てゴールイン。
Married after seven years of dating.
I never thought those two, who were high-school classmates, would get married ten years later.

Not used in English in either sense; English says 'cross the finish line' and 'tie the knot'. In soccer and other goal sports, scoring a goal is 得点(とくてん) or ゴールを決(き)める, not ゴールイン.
