TRANSITIVITY: 他動詞(たどうし) (transitive). No pair verb. Pattern: Xを(たの)む (request X) / Xに(たの)む (ask X [person]).

ASPECT: ている indicates ongoing/repeated state. (たの)んでいる = 'have requested' or 'am relying on.'
