百(ひゃく) is the number one hundred, used as a base for counting in hundreds.

Counting patterns

The reading changes when combined with certain numbers:

• 三百(さんびゃく) (300) - びゃく
• 六百(ろっぴゃく) (600) - っぴゃく
• 八百(はっぴゃく) (800) - っぴゃく
• Others: 二百(にひゃく), 四百(よんひゃく), 五百(ごひゃく), 七百(ななひゃく), 九百(きゅうひゃく)
