一緒(いっしょ)

一緒(いっしょ) covers being with someone and being the same as something else.

Usage

• Before a noun it takes の, never な: 一緒(いっしょ)の学校(がっこう) (the same school)
• 一緒(いっしょ)に is the adverbial form and is by far the commonest shape of the word
• It also means "all at once, in one lot": 全部(ぜんぶ)一緒(いっしょ)に洗(あら)う (wash it all in one load)
• ご一緒(いっしょ)する is the humble form, used when joining someone senior
