With に for emphasis
それ(たし)かにそうです
That is certainly true.

The teacher's explanation was certainly easy to understand, but I'd like to hear it once more.
2. if I remember correctly
Used when recalling something but not being 100% certain. Often at the beginning of a sentence.
If I remember correctly, tomorrow is Sunday.
I think it was near the station.
I believe she came from Osaka.
If I remember correctly, I think I watched that movie last summer.
If I remember correctly, he was studying Japanese at university, but I don't remember well.

(たし)か has two distinct usages depending on context.

USAGE 1 - CERTAINTY ((たし)かに):

With に, expresses strong certainty or acknowledgment.

  • (たし)かに()いた: I definitely heard it
  • (たし)かにそうです: That's certainly true

USAGE 2 - UNCERTAIN RECALL ((たし)か...):

Without に at sentence start, expresses vague memory.

  • (たし)明日(あした)だった: I think it was tomorrow
  • (たし)(えき)(ちか)く: If I recall, near the station

ADJECTIVAL USE:

(たし)かな + noun = certain, reliable

  • (たし)かな情報(じょうほう): reliable information
  • (たし)かな証拠(しょうこ): solid evidence
